The past few days the Moon has been so full and bright. A few nights ago I was walking around Lake Baldwin with my boyfriend and the way the Moon reflected off the water was tantalizing. My mind went blank and all I could do was stare in awe. God’s creation is so amazing and beautiful and out of my control. The way the Moon makes the tides and reflects the sunlight so perfectly can only be done by such an awesome and powerful God.
I couldn’t help but feel so small in comparison to the Moon’s full, bright beauty. In that moment with my boyfriend holding me as I looked out upon the rippling water and the Moon I felt at peace. It didn’t matter that I had homework piling up, an alarm clock awaiting me in the morning, and a long work day ahead of me.
I have been learning to live in the moment and appreciate all the little blessings in my life. There is a much bigger plan than what I can currently see, and I am taking time to acknowledge that. I think that is one of the biggest problems in life. Too many people are focused on the future or the past and not taking advantage of the gift of the present moment. Treasuring those moments like photos in my mind is a way I can find solace among all the stress and choas that life brings.
Thank you God for the Moon.
